Health Professions Education
Education and patient care are inseparable at DAWN. We connect interprofessional learning with responsibility to patients and community.

Educating Future Healthcare Leaders
DAWN provides an opportunity for health-professions students, pre-professional students, and community members to contribute to high-quality, patient-centered care alongside people in the Aurora community, including those who face barriers to healthcare access.
Learning at DAWN is grounded in interprofessional practice, thoughtful supervision, and Humble Learning. It asks each learner to listen carefully, recognize what they do not know, and remain accountable to the people and community DAWN serves.
Patient-centered care comes first
Patients receive care based on their needs. Students participate as members of supervised care teams and learn with respect, humility, and accountability to the people and community DAWN serves.
Our learning approach
DAWN brings people and perspectives together around care that is responsive, respectful, and community-centered.
High-quality patient care
Care is organized around each patient’s needs, priorities, and dignity.
Interprofessional practice
Learners and clinicians work with, from, and about one another.
Humble Learning
We listen, reflect, ask questions, and continue learning with the community.
Learn with DAWN’s community
DAWN’s education partnerships are built with academic and community partners. Explore the organizations that help make this work possible. Community members and people who are not pursuing a health profession may also explore volunteer opportunities.
